Mangano, along with District Attorney Kathleen Rice and members of the Nassau County Heroin Prevention Task Force Treatment Committee, present Pathways to Recovery: Guiding the Journey, a conference on Friday, November 15th from 9:30am to 3:30pm. The conference, applicable to both professionals in the field and people in recovery, will focus on the various paths available to those seeking recovery from drug addiction and includes workshops on achieving and sustaining recovery.
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today released a new substance abuse prevention video entitled “Impact” – designed to specifically address preventing teenage substance abuse. The video was created in response to the prescription and illegal drug epidemic that has impacted not only Nassau County but the entire nation.
The Nassau County Heroin Prevention Task Force today hosted a Drug Reclamation Forum, where ideas were exchanged among various municipalities on how best to rid our streets and our medicine cabinets of potentially harmful prescription drugs.

Another pharmacy was robbed this weekend for prescription painkillers. That makes four such robberies in Nassau County this year. While it may not seem like a lot, after three innocent people were killed in a tragic Medford pharmacy robbery, one is too many.
