Mangano Announces Earth Day Celebration

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced an Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 11th at Tackapausha Museum and Preserve. The event will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Residents are invited to stroll throughout the preserve to observe the beauty of Spring. Enjoy live animal presentations, crafts, games, and light refreshments. All ages are welcome. Admission is $5 per person.

Building upon his Fit Nassau initiative to help residents live a healthy lifestyle, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has released the registration dates for the 2015 Spring Session Swim Lessons, and Land and Aquatic Exercise Classes at the Nassau County Aquatic Center at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.

Mangano to Commemorate 11th Annual National Wear Red Day in Nassau County

In recognition of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) National Wear Red Day, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano will illuminate the dome of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building red this Friday, February 6th. National Wear Red Day, which marks its 11th Anniversary this year, supports events throughout the area in an effort to draw attention to and educate the public about the dangers associated with cardiovascular disease – the nation’s number one killer of women.

Mangano Seeks Nominations for Senior Citizen of the Year

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano is seeking nominations for Nassau County’s Senior Citizen of the Year. This annual award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding concern and action for human services and community involvement relating to any age group. Nominations are being accepted through Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
“There are so many seniors who have dedicated themselves to enriching the lives of others,” said County Executive Mangano. “While this award pays tribute to only one resident, I commend all of our senior citizens for the vital role they play in our communities.”
