Ms. New York Senior America Pageant Comes to Nassau County Government - Auditions Continue On January 18th

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today the Ms. New York Senior America Pageant will be coming to Nassau County, after being held in Lindenhurst and Suffolk County, for many years. The New York Senior America Organization is seeking gracious women 60 or older, who best exemplify the qualities of the modern dynamic senior, to audition for the upcoming April 27th, 2014 pageant to be held at Hofstra University, Uniondale, NY.

Mangano’s Economic Policies Result in Stronger Job Market - Unemployment Rate Declines as Jobs Return to Nassau County

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano’s economic policies of freezing property taxes for four straight years and creating local jobs have resulted in lower unemployment. This week, the New York State Department of Labor released statistics indicating a drop in unemployment to 5.1% in Nassau County this November – lower than both Suffolk County (5.6%) and New York State (6.9%).

Mangano Announces the Second Annual New Year’s Eve DASH - 5K Race and New Year’s Eve Party

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the Second Annual New Year’s Eve DASH – 5K Race and New Year’s Eve Party to support the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD). The DASH and Party will take place in Eisenhower Park at midnight on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31st. Participants will begin to arrive at 10:00 p.m.

Mangano Helps High-Tech Manufacturer Create and Retain Local Jobs

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the approval of an Industrial Development Agency (IDA) economic development compact that allows Designatronics – a high-technology manufacturer now located in New Hyde Park – to expand its operations in Hicksville while retaining nearly 240 jobs and adding 20 new employees to its workforce. The project is expected to generate $217 million in economic benefits for Nassau County’s economy.

Mangano Rescues Troubled Affordable Housing Opportunities in New Cassel

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the approval of an Industrial Development Agency (IDA) economic development compact that will allow Bedford Construction Group, a Valley Stream developer, to rescue an abandoned and incomplete affordable housing opportunities and retail space in New Cassel. The project, which began in 2005 and then was halted, is expected to be complete within six months. The project includes the completion of 12 apartments, seven affordable and five at market rate, in an underserved community.
